At this one-day outdoor fun learning event, the best research and agronomy extension people provide interactive in-field learning with growers, agronomists, retailers and others. We have two canolaPALOOZA locations for 2016.

June 21, AAFC Crop Diversification Centre at Portage la Prairie, MB

Manitoba Canola Growers Association and Canola Council of Canada host canolaPALOOZA in Portage (370 River Rd.). Stations include different combines with a focus on limiting seed loss; beneficial Insects with a demo bee hive; the insect “ring of death”; an agronomy game show; how to fertilize for high, medium, and low yields, and the economics for all; soil pits; and much more. The History of Canola and Triangle of U station showcases several varieties from the past and looks at the relationships between brassica species and sources of genetics for breeding yield, disease and insect resistance. The cost is $25.00 plus GST and includes a lunch catered by the award winning Burnside BBQ. Time: 9am-3pm. Space is limited to 150. You must register to attend the event. June 28, AAFC Research Station at Lacombe, AB

Alberta Canola Producers Commission and the Canola Council of Canada host canolaPALOOZA in Lacombe. Gates Open at 9:30 am for a learn at your own pace through the stations listed below featuring an amazing group of instructors. The site closes at 4:00 pm. There is NO CHARGE to attend but pre-registration is required. Lunch will be available from a variety of food trucks – please bring cash. Stations will be similar to Manitoba’s.
