The innovation in the canola industry goes beyond breeding into leading edge extension programs aimed at growers and agronomists.

Canola is the only crop with a dedicated national team of agronomists located throughout the prairies. Canola Digest is a joint publication of the three prairie grower organizations, and Canola Watch has been delivering timely information via email since the start of email. The canola research hub at www.canolaresearch.ca is the most comprehensive research database of its kind.

And the canola extension family has launched some of the most innovative and interactive learning events across the prairies. These include air drill clinics, combine clinics and storage clinics. The series of canoLABs held in each province are the most unique winter events offered featuring hundreds of live plants and insects. In the summertime, there’s nothing quite like canolaPALOOZA – day dedicated to canola with a carnival like atmosphere.

The generous cooperation of researchers, agronomists, extension specialists and industry to make these events possible is what really makes canola extension special.
