Clubroot continues to expand in Alberta, with a few new counties added to the confirmed list in 2012. Soil movement by field equipment and vehicles remains the key way the disease spreads from field to field. At these meetings, CCC agronomy specialists Dan Orchard and Keith Gabert along with AARD clubroot specialist Ron Howard will provide hands on demonstrations on clubroot management, including how to ID the disease early and how to use equipment sanitation to slow its spread across the farm and the county. Ron Howard will bring live plants with the disease so growers can see what early stage infection looks like. The meetings will also provide growers and all other interested parties a chance to review county clubroot policies.
