Healthy Fat, Healthy Weight During Pregnancy
Consuming
healthy fats like canola oil may help control excess weight gain during
pregnancy. Nearly 75 percent of obese women put on too much weight during
pregnancy and are more likely to retain almost half of that one year after
childbirth. Just three teaspoons of healthy fat per day, along with eight
servings of fruits and vegetables, six servings of whole grains and five ounces
of protein may help control weight.

Combat High Cholesterol with Canola Oil
Switching
from bad fats to healthy fats is one of six easy ways to improve cholesterol.
Cooking with canola oil, which has the least saturated fat of all common
cooking oils, and choosing fish over red meat are daily choices that help keep

steamed bread or filled, steamed buns – are gaining widespread popularity in
the West. The best way to replicate authentic bao dough is with canola
oil, which makes the dough fluffy, tender and slightly chewy when mixed with
yeast and baking powder.

Improve Fertility
A
recent study from Harvard Medical School found that trans fat may
contribute to infertility, while healthy omega-3 fat is anti-inflammatory and
helpful for fetal development. Canola oil is a smart choice for eliminating trans
fat and increasing intake of omega-3 and monounsaturated fats.

A Chip Off the Old Fryer
The
manager of Ric’s Galley, a fish and chips restaurant in Dunedin, New Zealand,
attributes the eatery’s recent "Best Chip Store" win to frying the
chips in 100 percent canola oil. Turns out they’re not just tasty – they’re
also trans fat-free!
