Our son Chad and his lovely bride, Michelle, were married in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, on June 30, 2007. Being farmers, and being that our fields of canola were in bloom, they thought that pictures “in crop” would be fun.

They have a number of photos in the canola fields, but these are two of my favourites. I suppose there could be many captions, but “Happily Ever After” seems to suit this couple to a tee.

My husband Mervin and I live just out of Bateman, SK. This canola happens to be ours, but we farm as a family unit so Chad did most of the seeding on these three quarters and a lot of the combining. Also involved in our farm operation is our daughter, Trena and her husband Myles. Our second son, Jordan and his wife Jennifer live in Olds, AB and always take at least a week to come and help us harvest.

The extreme heat in July took its toll on the canola but we fortunately had these fileds in early and they yielded as well as any in this area. At the end of June they were looking lush and lovely, just perfect for our bride and groom.
