Canola Agronomic Research Program (CARP)

The Canola Agronomic Research Program (CARP) funded by the provincial grower organizations has been providing support for research designed to improve canola production and grower profitability over the past 25 years. Research priorities are identified by the provincial grower organizations - Alberta Canola Producers Commission, SaskCanola, Manitoba Canola Growers Association - in partnership with Alberta Crop Industry Development Fund, and are focused on research to increase farm productivity and economic returns to farmers.

Proposals for CARP are reviewed by the provincial grower organizations and the Canola Council of Canada (CCC)’s Crop Production Committee which consists of members representing producers, government and industry who have expertise in all areas of canola agronomy.

When and how to submit a proposal?

A Letter of Intent (LOI) is requested by Denise Maurice, Vice-President, Crop Production, in the fall and researchers will be contacted to submit a full proposal for the selected projects.

CARP Reporting

Regular reporting is important. The Lead Researcher of the project shall complete and submit the reports on behalf of his/her complete research team to Gail Hoskins.
