NCDOT and N.C. State University Explore Biofuel Possibilities

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is currently running a project focusing on exploring the potential for multiple sources of biofuel. A small field of canola plants planted along Interstate 40 has been harvested for refinement and conversion to biodiesel. The project, which is being run in conjunction with N.C. State University, aims to determine the feasibility of growing biofuel crops along highways similarly to Utah’s “Freeways to Fuel” program. Full story
