Canola Oil Linked to Reduced Breast Cancer Risk
Researchers from Marshall University presented findings at the Era of Hope Conference in early August that the offspring of mice fed a diet of "sufficient amounts of canola oil" had gene profiles linked to a lower risk of breast cancer. This positive research is similar to studies from North Dakota State University, which discovered comparable findings.

Survey Says …
U.S. consumers are increasingly aware of "good" versus "bad" fats, with omega-3 fat having the best health association, according to the 2011 Consumer Attitudes about Nutrition survey by the United Soybean Board, which polled 1,000 adults online. Canola oil was identified as one of the healthiest cooking oils and 53 percent of respondents agreed that choosing a moderate-fat diet with good fats is "an effective strategy for improving overall health."
